travel wishlist

Yes, this is grubbing. But some people do want to know what I would like. Or someone might have a great alternate suggestion as well. I never know. Along with some items of clothing and travel accessories, I expect to have to purchase these things.

what i think i want/need right now (in no particular order)

  • Kindle 2 or Kindle 1 (wish fulfilled! after I returned to the US)
  • Bucky travel set (wish fulfilled!)
  • Swiss Army Victorinox E-motion 4.0 25″ Trek Pack Plus it’s still smaller than I’d like, but otherwise it has every feature I want in a travel bag and I really liked playing with it at the store (bought)
  • Eurail passes but not sure which ones, exactly (never got, never needed)
  • giftcards from Macy’s and REI (wishes fulfilled!)
  • A phone. Here’s where I get really particular. A quadband unlocked GSM phone, preferably with a protected/covered keypad, with the ability to text/SMS and do email. Other options, like camera and playing MP3s are not a concern. I want a functional business machine. This Nokia one seems pretty good. (wish fulfilled!)

and it begins

I’ve bought a plane ticket to London, departing 5/16. Though I have a return date in early June, I probably won’t make it. My plan is to get my feet wet in London and then venture off to Europe on my own. I’ve gotten a lot of tips and a couple invites over the past few months, so this adventure won’t be completely alone! And there is a good friend in Sweden I must see, so since I’ll be over there anyway…

Yes, I’ll be working and yes, it will be as Amanda. I’ll play up the American angle. I think most men will be intrigued. I’m a very laid-back brand of American – probably what most people think of when they think American (aside from various politicians). I’ll be blogging and Twittering – when I remember to. Someone very special recently bought me my first digital camera so I can take pictures too! (Thank you, my friend.) I’m setting up an interactive online photo gallery on this site to store my pictures. So look for a test run of that in the next month. There will be a way for people to join the gallery, though I politely ask that no photos be posted other than mine. Comments are allowed. (I may just completely overhaul this blog theme, but not sure I’ll have the spare time. Volunteers are welcome to apply!)

Traveling like this is a life-long desire and my time has finally arrived. I plan on doing more than just Internet escort work though. I certainly want to try a variety of flavors of sex work. This is a thing for me, not a marketing/advertising thing. I’ll be paying my bills and living but at the same time, I want experiences and to find out new things. (Except pimps — not doing that.) I have a feeling I’ll be gone for some time.

not always the total package (of looks and brains)

A friend sent me a link to a YouTube video of porn actresses being interviewed. I’m posting the link because yes, I do have a sense of humor. I laughed, I cried, I laughed again.

Some might think this reinforces stereotypes — maybe it does. I think these ladies are a woeful exception (much like Miss Teen South Carolina). I have to wonder what Larry Flynt thinks about this video and if he’s going to require political-briefing sessions with all the talent Hustler hires.

And no, I wasn’t surprised that the Brit had a better (albeit hazy) grasp of current events than the Americans. That falls in line with studies/surveys that I’ve read about.

deathless client responses

This is a toss-off post, really. But should be amusing.

In Dallas, when I was ready for things to move from talking to action, I’d say (like many escorts) “Would you like to get comfortable?” One day a client sitting on the couch in my incall said in perfect sincerity and innocence “I already am, thank you.”

I took his hand to lead him where I wanted him to go. And I stopped asking the question.

More recently, a client in Vegas, new to gambling, told me that he’d played Russian Roulette but didn’t like it because he kept losing.

The roulette played on the main floor of Vegas casinos is not Russian, no matter how painful it is to lose.

terrorism is obviously a priority

Reading news about the presidential-pardon applications crossing Bush’s desk (he does not seem inclined to make many pardons right now), one caught my attention. It seems John Walker Lindh, who was picked up a few years ago fighting with the Taliban in Afghanistan, wants a pardon. He’s serving a 20yr prison sentence.

Deborah Jeane Palfrey (aka The DC Madam), was facing a possible maximum sentence of 55 years when she was killed/committed suicide (take your pick). She, of course, ran an escort agency/fantasy-sex service/prostitution ring (take your pick). Article-writers covering the story said she realistically faced anywhere between 4-15 years in prison.

All this over $2 million in income she paid taxes on, with a stable of consensual employees and a very consenting clientele.

And Lindh wants a pardon because his prison sentence is obviously a bit much for him. Perhaps he feels like the victim of a miscarriage of justice.
