As many of you know, my second major was in English. While I focused on the creative writing and literature aspects, my grammatical education wasn’t completely neglected. But the little written mistakes that are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me are so elementary….in fact, these concepts were taught in public elementary school, as I recall.
My New Blog Home
Finally my web-hosting has decided to offer blogging options for us. Now my blog can relax here in its own home on my site. While in the process of moving my files though, I lost the few comments that were made.
At the moment, I don’t think I have a subscribing option to this blog. I will fiddle around and see how to create that on here. Once I figure that out, I’ll post an announcement on here. WordPress is a great blogging tool–after you’ve learned it. It’s a very extensive program and will take a little time for me to explore.
I will say I’m very amazed at the amount of time other people must devote to creating, maintaining and posting their blogs. At any rate, once things are settled here, they’re staying! I don’t intend to move hosting or my blog anytime soon. Now I can relax and start writing again. I have a lot of great ideas for topics (yes, I’ve made a list). Keep watching this spot!
A Beautiful Love Story
I’ve finally gotten to watch The Road Home.
It’s not very long but it covers a lifetime. Although a Chinese movie, it has a very French feel to it. The heart of the movie is probably the most beautiful love story I’ve seen on film. The story is both incredibly simple and the most extraordinary romance. There isn’t much more to the movie and yet it awed me. The movie is flawless; like a tiny, perfect gem.
Beautiful and simple.
My New Crush
I’ve had a subscription to Newsweek for the last two or three years. While I don’t agree with a lot of the articles, it gives me the news without having to watch TV (which I don’t do) or click through CNN (I’m terribly lazy).
I enjoy some of their regular columnists and don’t bother to read the rest. One columnist that I have always enjoyed reading is Fareed Zakaria. He is obviously well-educated, well-traveled and seems to be a very sensible man, which is so appealing to me.
Disneyworld: Food and Lodging
I visited Disneyworld for the first time in early June. I’ve never been to Florida. I expected it to be hot and humid, and it was. I didn’t expect the amount of rain we got but I guess that goes along with the humidity.
